Meet Your SLP

Hi, I’m Rachel ! I’m a licensed speech-language pathologist of 9 years proudly serving clients in Yorktown & Williamsburg, VA.

Rooted in the midwest, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders from Augustana University in South Dakota and my Master’s degrees in Communication Sciences & Disorders from the University of Kansas.

My approach is child-led, play-based, and family-centered because I know that the greatest progress happens when children feel connected and families are active partners in the journey. Whether we're playing on the floor, exploring the community, or celebrating a new milestone, my goal is to make therapy both meaningful and enjoyable while empowering children to communicate with confidence.

At Connections Speech Therapy, we empower children and their families through child-led, play-based, and relationship-centered speech therapy that builds confident communication through connection, trust, and joyful learning.

“Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning, but for children, play is serious learning. Play really is the work of childhood.”
